This is my version of 'salmon poke bowl' I have tried in NY - Salt + Charcoal restaurant in Brooklyn. Poke bowl is similar to sushi stacks, de-constructed sushi bowls and of course sushi itself. It's a delicious combination of sticky rice, your choice of fish or seafood, caviar, sesame and usually different seaweeds. You can also add different vegetables, sauces or spices. Mix it together for a sushi like version or eat each piece by itself. Chop sticks or a fork. The choice is up to you!

This delicious meal reminds me not only of NY, but Japan as well. This is a great dinner or lunch idea for sushi lovers out there.

Try swapping the salmon for shrimps or tuna. You can also have lots of fun with the marinate. Chop in a bit of scalion or chilli for a stronger taste. You can really have fun with this!

There are many different seeweeds out there, so don't be afraid to try them. I just used some thin sliced nori, but you can do something more professional if you want.

I believe, that avocado is what makes this poke bowl truly NY style. These days you can find avocado in everything. It got really popular in the past two years. Avocado is delicious and the good kind of fat!

Assembling is the most creative part. It's time for you to show your originality!
